What a solar site survey should cover

DRAFT — outline only. Do not publish until the figures below are verified. Keep this guide inactive until it is written.

Angle: Tell buyers what a proper survey looks like so they can spot a lazy one.

This guide must answer: - What should a real site survey check (shading, structure, cabling, meter)? - How is shading assessed across the day? - What red flags mean the surveyor is guessing? - Why a firm quote without a survey is unreliable.

Writing rules: answer the question in the first two sentences, put a real number in the opening paragraph, name the specific city or DISCOM where the answer varies, and link to two related guides and the relevant category page.

Verify before publishing: Nothing needs external verification — this is process knowledge, but keep it accurate.
